Dr. Frey is a born-and-raised Midwesterner, where she grew up in the small town of Decorah, IA. However, she’s always loved Texas, and moved to Seguin after high school to pursue her college career at Texas Lutheran University. Dr. Frey knew going into college that she wanted to be an optometrist, so she interned with Dr. Albright in the summer of 2016 to gain a better understanding of optometry and experience in the field. She then graduated cum laude from TLU in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology.
After TLU, Dr. Frey attended the University of Houston College of Optometry (UHCO) and graduated with her doctorate in 2021. During her time at UHCO, she gained experience in primary eyecare as well as ocular disease, pre- and post-surgical management, specialty contact lenses, and caring for patients with special needs.
Upon graduating from UHCO, Dr. Frey began her career in Cedar Park, TX. After 1.5 years of practicing in the north Austin area, the stars aligned, and she is back in New Braunfels where it all began - at Albright Eyecare.
Dr. Frey is a therapeutic optometrist and certified glaucoma specialist. She is able to see patients of all ages, as well as diagnose and manage conditions such as macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, keratoconus, red eyes, and more! Her favorite part of optometry is educating her patients so that they understand their own eye conditions and how to manage them. She is a current member of the Texas Optometric Association (TOA) and the American Optometric Association (AOA).
Dr. Frey lives in New Braunfels with her boyfriend Kevin, and their german shepherd, Neo. When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family, taking pilates classes/working out, and traveling.
